The FE&M fiber-lined louver damper is engineered to reduce heat loss using multiple layers of ceramic fiber insulation capped with a floating metal liner.

The floating liner is able to expand and contract freely during startup and shutdown of these systems.  One face of the insulation is provided with a slotted cover to reduce gas leakage through the insulation when the damper is closed.  A thermal barrier is provided between shaft and actuator to block heat transfer from reaching the actuator.

Care is given in selecting and positioning bearings and packing to ensure operation throughout the startup-run-shutdown cycles.

Actuators, controls and indicators are all available just as with Standard Louver Dampers.
