Fiber-lined butterfly dampers are used to isolate and control gas flow while reducing heat loss to ambient.

This damper includes multiple layers of ceramic fiber insulation capped with a floating metal liner.  The floating liner is designed to expand and contract freely during startup and shutdown of these systems.   One face of the insulation is provided with a slotted cover to reduce gas leakage through the insulation.  A thermal barrier is provided between shaft and actuator to block conducted heat transfer from reaching the actuator.

Blade designs are available with optional insulation jackets as well.  Care is given in selecting and positioning bearings and packing to ensure operation throughout the startup-run-shutdown cycles.

Actuators, controls and indicators are all available just as with Standard Butterfly Dampers.
